About the Artist

Gary Prue, born and raised in the Washington, DC area, is a local artist whose work is defined by an extraordinary artistic versatility. Rather than confining himself to one creative lane, he simultaneously develops completely distinct bodies of work. On any given day, his studio might feature a breathtakingly tranquil landscape sitting alongside a sharp, vibrant geometric abstraction, or a contemporary piece that leans into the wonderfully bizarre.

A natural talent, Gary began painting with little more than canvas, brush, and paint. He shared his works with family and friends before life eventually pulled him away from his artistry for decades. A chance encounter with a local artist and a reconnection with a friend who remembered his early pieces reignited his passion. 

Today, Gary has built a personal studio and gallery in his home where early works and a growing collection of new paintings come together as the heart and soul of Gary's Art Room.
